Quality Toilet Seat - Highly Recommended!
This "Comfort Seats" Round Solid Wood Oak toilet seat is actually a very good looking seat with sturdy hardware. We have had very bad luck with toilet seats over the past few years, literally (in at least one case) going through four lesser ones over the past three years. Part of the problem was that we had five people using the bathroom in question, with three of us a little on the larger side. The cheap ones with plastic "hardware" seldom lasted more than a month or two before braking and when we upgraded to metal hardware the screws either pulled out of the press-board, the seat broke in half, or the laminate cracked and pealed (and let me tell you that a split in laminate can "pinch" a very sensitive area). All of that being said, none of any of those things are likely to happen with this seat. Here are my observations:

Not the ultimate seat, but nice
This is a very nice toilet seat. Both the seat and lid are solid oak (albeit multiple boards finger-jointed together), about 3/4" thick, and have several coats of varnish or lacquer, which should make for easy cleaning. The seat is of higher quality than a wooden seat I bought from a big box store about a decade ago, which itself is much higher quality than the crap they are selling now. The "wooden" seats sold in my local big box stores are oak veneer glued over who knows what. I can't imagine that lasting very long in the warm humid environment of a bathroom.
I'm giving this product 4 stars, 4 1/2 if I could. Why not 5? The manufacturer could have done a better job of matching the glued up boards so that it would look more like a single board. Admittedly, this would require more human intervention, and probably raise the price.
Also, while Googling for toilet seats, I found one manufacturer who makes both the seat and the lid from single boards. They wanted...
