Great quality, instructions are not good
Hi agree with reviewer Corbitt's assessment of the instructions that come with this faucet. They are technically complete, but poorly written. I've put together a dozen or so faucets in my lifetime and they usually come with detailed instructions of about 15 steps, these instructions had a grand total of 3. You will need to have had some experience with faucet installation if you're going to attempt to install this one yourself as there are no instructions at all on how to install the drain assembly.
They also don't explain how to actually put the handles on the valves. They don't screw on like most do, they push on. And you should really be sure you have them in the correct position before you push down because those suckers aren't coming off once they're on. ***In fact, don't put the handles on until the very LAST step*** Completely assemble the entire faucet, then pop the handles on.

Beautiful, solid faucet
This faucet appears to be well-crafted and is very pretty. The finish (satin) is nice and doesn't appear to be cheap and scratch-prone. They faucet valve handles work extremely smoothly and make other faucets feel cheap. I didn't really want to spend this much on a bathroom faucet but after visiting my local hardware stores and seeing what $100-120 can get me (which is bland, typical designs) I decided to splurge the extra $50 on this faucet and am glad I did--especially since this same faucet is $220+ at your local Big Blue store.
My only problems were with the installation. I have installed only one or two faucets in my lifetime so I'm not a complete rookie but I would like a nice set of instructions to which this came with hardly any. I think the most confusing thing about the installation instructions were that they have included steps that aren't necessary (such as how to put together the water valves, with is actually done at the factory). This left me looking...
Very nice faucet, instructions could be better
First off, this is a very nice faucet for a 4" mini-spread setup. The others with the deckplates are so unappealing or left in the 80's (the ones with the giant ball on top). It's really nice to see Grohe make something for us who inherited a discount or unfortunate sink.
That said here are some pointers:
1) Make sure you have teflon tape before starting. There are compression fittings almost everywhere except for the lower part of the drain that goes into the P-trap. You will need tape here or you'll have leaks. It's a metal to metal fitting and a bad engineering choice by Grohe.
2) The instructions are decent for the spigot and handles, but completely lacking for the drain and stopper. They should be taken to task for this. You can figure it out but it might save 30 minutes if someone told you the proper order ahead of time.
